The Wingless Turpial

Inspired by the brutal reality of a real Venezuelan prison run entirely by its inmates, a bolero drag singer is incarcerated and forced to ghostwrite the “heroic” biography of the ruthless criminal who rules the penitentiary. In exchange for protection - and to avoid being sent to the rooftop, where all other queer inmates are left to survive - she’s drawn into a dangerous relationship that drifts between manipulation, desire, betrayal… and something that might resemble love.
